LITTERS/
PUPPIES

von den Windriver-Bergen kennel is planning their B litter breeding (Foxi vom Gusseisen x Felix vom Malerberg) for this fall (2023). The breeding should occur around middle of November with puppies being whelped in January. The puppies will be ready to head to their new loving home in March. We require all puppy buyers to become KlM-GNA members and greatly encourage all puppy buyers to at least run their dog through the JGHV VJP test. First and foremost we place our dogs with hunting families. KlM are bred to hunt. The best way to keep your dog in shape for hunting season, is to keep yourself in shape during the off season! KlMs make great companions and motivators to get outside and enjoy the outdoors. Our puppies will be appreciative of your efforts, and in the end you will have a dog that is in shape, has lots of stamina, and is eager to please and hunt with you!

A bit about Felix
Felix is slightly taller but slender boned male. Lothar and Ingrid were in the 80’s when they purchased Felix. He has a passionate and friendly personality and loves everyone. Felix is extremely cooperative, easily trained, and mild mannered. The Hunold’s were able to train him for the VJP, HZP and the VGP at a not too young age. Felix is eager to go hunting with anyone and he is frequently picked up by their friends for a day of hunting. He has a strong point, thorough search, and excellent in water. He has a great nose and a strong prey drive. Besides the test mentioned above, Felix completed a 20 h blood tracking test which is quite impressive.

Foxi vom Gusseisen

Angus vom Eiswald

A Litter: January 8, 2023
Foxi vom Gusseisen x Angus vom Eiswald

A bit about Angus (Milo)

Angus (Milo) has a big personality, he is very spunky and a bit of a goofball, and he typically becomes the life of the party. He enjoys affection from kids and adults alike, and he figures out how to get it -- whether by pawing at you, crawling up in your lap, or licking your face. He will sleep in the bed with you if you let him, but he also loves his crate.

When game is present, he transforms. His prey drive is through the roof. Other German dog breeders have commented that they wish their German dog had his kind of drive.  Once he knows who is boss, he is quite obedient. He is a classic German dog in that way, and German training techniques work well with him. Milo is very versatile as a hunter. He would make an excellent duck hunting dog but due to the lack of access to water, he does little waterfowl hunting.  Milo and his owner hunt upland almost exclusively. Milo has hunted in CO, NE, KS, SD, and WY and mostly on public land and mostly on wild birds.  He has hunted pheasants, chukar, prairie chickens, Hungarian partridge (huns), sharptail grouse, quail, rabbits and jackrabbits. He is a very strong tracker, which makes him particularly effective on running birds like pheasants and chukar. With his nose, tracking abilities, and drive, nothing stops him when he is on a track (briars, cattails, sagebrush, etc.).
